About us

FOR Children not for profit

We are passionate about making a difference to children’s lives. Children in care are there for a reason, they are hurting and need our help to heal.

Disillusioned by what was offered to children in care, and the support given to Foster Carers, we set up as a not-for-profit co-operative in 1999 working in England & Wales. As the co-operative we were rated Good with Ofsted (last report 2019).

On the 1st October 2023 we became The Foster Care Charity, a registered charity dedicated to promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young adults through foster care placements and related childcare services. We provide foster care across central, eastern and northern England from north Somerset to south Yorkshire.

What our carers say
"I think the service offered is great! I've had lots of support not only by my Social Worker but also from other people at FCC from training, admin, finance. All very kind, always ready to answer my questions or queries and reminding me of deadlines.  I’m so happy to have the opportunity to do fostering with FCC family!"
